The Secrets Behind Finding The Most Affordable Cruises

If you are like most people finding ways to stretch your dollar for your vacation can be daunting to say the least.  Times are tough these days and so finding affordable cruises to plan your trip requires you to be savvy in your search.  With a little skill, you can find deals by early booking discounts, cruising during slow periods, getting those last minute deals, and the very best of senior discounts. This article will provide you valuable tips on how to research and locate affordable cruises during these tough economic times.

The majority of cruise companies offer their customers early booking discounts for affordable cruises worldwide.  To find these you sometimes need to do a little bit of searching.  Most of the time you will find these deals on the cruise line main website (ie Celebrity Cruises) or do a general search of the many cruise discount brokers online or you may ask a travel agent that specialized in cruises.  The good thing about booking your trip early you will have more choices on getting the cruise line you want, the ship, and choice of room availability. These days a lot of cabins go unfilled so their is less incentive to book early.  It might be a better strategy to look toward slow periods of the year for a discount.

If you were looking at cruises from Galveston,Texas or other ports to the Caribbean you might look at the many cheap fares during the slow months.  The months I am talking about are September, October, November, and December.  These do not include the holidays since many people try to book during Thanksgiving and Christmas for there families.  You may have a smaller choice in cruises lines, itinerary, and cabin, but it is a small risk to take to get the rate you want.

If you are free on time, try looking at last minute deals that are often published.  Cruise lines do not want to sail with empty cabins so they will try to entice you to sail with them at a dramatically reduced rate.  To find these, go travel agents specializing in cruises and get on their email lists.  Often these agents send out timely deals for those who can travel short notice such as retired seniors.

Finally, for those seniors who enjoy going on cruise vacations you can find discounts for those aged 55 or older.  Ask you travel agent for help with this and don’t keep your age a secret!  Again, get on their email list so that they could send you these Senior discounts once they come available.  The organization you want to join is AARP since they always offer discounts on wide range of things including cruises.

Hopefully as you finish this article you have been equipped on finding affordable cruises for your vacation.  Now I am sure there are other ways of finding better deals than getting early booking discounts or traveling during slow periods or getting those last minute deals.  A tough economy is hard on many but with the right research it can be to your advantage when planning your vacation!
